Table of torques for standard threaded connections tightening

When selecting torque wrenches technical specialists of TechnoForce LLC most often faced with the fact that Customer does not know what kind of torque is required for him for threaded connections maintenance, given that the most common indicator of correct tightening torque at the enterprise is “tightening until crackle”. In return, such approach significantly impairs tightening quality, entire design reliability which also affects the negatively entire equipment unit.

The tablegiven below will allow you to select independently the required torque during threaded connection maintenance. Depending on the torque and the other factors you can select, for your company needs, electric or hydraulic torque wrench, pneumatic or torque wrench or torque multiplier.

These torque values are approximate for metric thread DIN13 (friction coefficient – 0.14; new screw, lubrication). It is recommended to reduce torque to 20 % when using molybdenum grease. Torque values were calculated based on strength class of threaded connection – 8.8; 10.9; 12.9.

We strongly recommend you to calculate tightening torque on the basis of data and technical characteristics of specific threaded connection as per technical documentation on your equipment.
